Thinking about my adversity or fear of using technology and is it all necessary? In the article below a techie speaks about technology being here to stay, and how not for profits need to invest in the people to use it, and train others to use it as well. When they put it that way, I'm sold and I can't wait to see what it can do for my organization.

Combining this article and the opportunity we had last week to give Raiser's Edge a try, were compelling reasons to utilize the people power, to operate the technology that improves performance of an organization. Everybody can win.
Certainly an interesting thought. We are continually dehumanizing tasks but there will be the need for "the human factor" with task performance. We can help improve daily life with it though.
ReplyDeleteI see you have come around, Allison and I were skeptics also at the beginning of class. I can really see the potential so technology and social media in my working future. As long as we use it to enhance and not replace the personal connection or touch it is a great tool!
ReplyDeleteI've also come to realize how important technology is for a successful non-profit. I agree that technology provides us with an opportunity to free up human resources for use in other areas of the organization - as long as personel are comfortable with its use.
